PHNOM PENH: The administration of the capital of Phnom Penh has just published a decision to suspend all “high-risk” businesses and activities suspended in Phnom Penh for another 14 days, from zero hours from July 10 to July 23, 2021.
Businesses of all kinds, such as clubs, karaoke, bars, nightclubs, beer gardens and casinos, resorts, museums and amusement parks, have been ordered to stop their activities.
Massage parlors, cinemas, art theaters, fitness clubs and sports centers have also been ordered to suspend their activities.
Large private gatherings of 15 or more people are also temporarily prohibited, but with a few exceptions. Gatherings of family members and relatives living in a residence or pavilion are permitted.
Various traditional and religious ceremonies, such as the organization of funerals in accordance with the regulations of the relevant authorities and after, are also allowed. The move comes after the continued increase in cases in Phnom Penh and the provinces.
As part of a related development, an additional 4 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines are expected to arrive in Cambodia today (July 11), giving new impetus to the government’s efforts to vaccinate more than 10 million people here This year.

From February 7 to July 6, 2021, Cambodia received 12 million doses of the vaccine. Of these, 2.2 million doses are Sinopharm, 324,000 doses are AstraZeneca from the Covax initiative and 9.5 million doses are Sinovac.
Sambath said the question of when the second batch of the Covax initiative vaccine for Cambodia will arrive was still open.
